Many brokers feel that professional photography is the absolute way. That is if you don't do the shots the home won't sell. I have sold and rented many units without professional shots and frankly some of my more expensive units were not sold on pictures but rather the price, my video and the feel of the units once we saw them in person.
Don't get me wrong you need to have the right pictures. There are other agents that simply can't even take a picture. Personally I love photos so I have learned to maneuver how to take ones on my phone and the different applications to help videos stand out. We also have a professional camera that I use depending the listings and I'm learning to work it more
. Quite frankly if the home is in the millions or the listing is in the high thousands in rent do spend the money on photography as it can be a chore to take the pictures. However any less it's not budgetary friendly or worth it. You can have wonderful pictures and an overpriced home/unit that won't sell!
